Synopsis
GALA Hispanic Theatre presents the world premiere of its newly commissioned musical Agustín Lara: Boleros & Blues, written by Gabriel García and directed by Abel López, with musical
direction by Mari Paz. Audiences will thrill to the romantic rhythms and lyrics of Mexico's legendary composer in this musical
extravaganza.
The unforgettable melodies of love songs such as
"Solamente Una Vez/"You Belong to My Heart," "Cumbancha," "Impossible," "Veracruz," and many more will fill the stage as we follow Lara, "El Flaco de Oro," through his rendezvouses with international artists of his era and
stars like María Félix of the Golden Age of Mexican film.
